10.2 The Books Of The Bible
The Christian Bible is a collection of texts that begins with the book of Genesis and ends with the Apocalypse or the Revelation of John. The texts that recount the history before the appearance of Christ are known as the Old Testament. Those that tell the coming of Christ are known as the New Testament. [1] Based upon the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the complete list of the Christian Bible is as follows:
“The Old Testament: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 and 2 Kings, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Ezra and Nehemiah, Tobit, Judith, Esther, 1 and 2 Maccabees, Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, the Song of Songs, Wisdom, Sirach [Ecclesiasticus], Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Baruch, Ezekial, Daniel. Hosea, Joel. Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi.
